This simple fix has turned into a cluster fuck. The dickheads that did the siding didn't start the first course on this section with a full piece of siding. They cut a couple of inches off of the bottom piece, which is probably why they used J channel instead of a starter strip. Only think I can figure is to use and inverted piece of drip molding, tuck the cut edge into that and silicone it so water doesn't get inside and run behind the siding like it did with the J channel.
Dang.
Is that a big wall? Would it be expensive to just start fresh?
