    Default SEMO

Headed to SEMO later on this week for a few days. Anybody been hunting out there in the last week? Hoping that this cold weather up North will push some birds South

If you are hunting a field, there is a good chance it will be frozen!

Looks like things will freeze up this week but we should be good to go on Saturday and Sunday. Damn Gut that's a pile of ducks right there, looking forward to getting out there

Still too dry and mostly geese from everyone I talk to. Don't get too excited. Birds are in LA where there is plenty of open water.

I am right outside of St. Louis. Ducks are slowly coming in, no big push. A lot of gaddies and shovelers, few mallards where we hunt. Got off work at 8 last night went to bed around 11. Heard constant snows and specks.
“… duckhunting stands alone as an outdoor discipline. It has a tang and spirit shared by no other sport—a philosophy compounded of sleet, the winnow of unseen wings, and the reeks of marsh mud and wet wool. No other sport has so many theories, legends, casehardened disciples and treasured memories.”
    --John Madson, The Mallard, 1960

"Never trust a duck hunter who cares more about his success than his dog's."
