Killed my biggest with a bow last night. Saw him appear at 4:45 about 60 yards headed to my left and going away from me. Gave him some time but he wouldn't come any closer so I gave him three loud grunts which didn't phase him at all. He was munching on an acorn flat and moving off into the distance and I was losing sight. I then tried a snort wheeze followed by three grunts as a second effort to turn him around. I lost sight of him completely and thought he was gone. At that point I reached down into the bottom of my backpack and found my bleat call. I hit the bleat three times followed by three grunts and he came in on a string. Double lunged him at 30 yards at about 5:20. It was a hunt that I will remember for a long time and I still can't believe it happened! Very grateful to have the opportunity to kill such an awesome animal.
