    Default Coolant pipe temporary repair

2001 F150 with cracked coolant pipe. I'm told lower manifold needs to be replaced. Any way I can patch it to limp along for a week or so until I can find a replacement vehicle? Doubt this truck is worth the $1300 repair bill.

    Patch it?... No.

"Patch" it?... Probably, but I have no insight.

Have you tried "rescue tape". They sell it online. I carry it on the boat for quick repairs to get home. Might work.

ive put this stuff on toilet drain pipes, water hoses, and a whole lot of other stuff i cant remember. works great, rated up to a lot hotter temp that a radiator hose gets. Its self bonding. They have a thinner, less durable version on the shelve at advance, o'reillys, but if you have a day or two, I would go with the "rescue tape"

This is the metal pipe connecting the heater line to the lower manifold

Devcon repair putty. Probably plastic steel would work. Dillion Supply in Columbia has it in stock. 1lb is like $80 but goes a long way. It will still be in one piece when that Ford goes to the scrap yard.

I'll call Monday to talk about getting AAA to tow it to you.

Rodney at A2Z got it fixed along with new water pump for less than half what I had been quoted elsewhere.
