    Default Solunar forecast

So how many people pay any attention to Solunar forecasts and major or minor feeding times predicted on Solunar calendars. Over the years I've paid little attention to these things and find that I can't really rely on them to be correct. Has anybody found them to be helpful?

I usually only pay attention to the autumn equinox. Supposedly the peak of the rut kicks in ten days after the second full moon after the autumn equinox

I hunt in Aiken and Orangeburg Counties and from what we've been seeing I think the peak of rut will be here before then. I could be wrong but we've been seeing bucks chasing does hard the last week and a half or so. Haven't caught any of them breeding or does even letting them come close but the chase is on for sure. Two nice bucks were killed on our club Saturday morning and both were chasing does. Last week a nice 8pt was killed and he too was chasing.

The solunar times were almost spot on this past Saturday and Sunday. We went to Venice in July and it was amazing how accurate they were. I am a believer, but I think weather can screw it up.

I've had a lot of luck with it fishing, but not so much with hunting.

I always seem to see a lot of activity in the last half of the major periods when I hunt them, and it sometimes carries over a couple of hours after the periods end. I have not had so much luck with the minor periods.

For bucks, the biggest thing isn’t the moon IMO (besides I hate hunting right after a full), but 9 out of 10 bucks come when the pressure is around or above 30.10.

A few years ago, I went back and looked at my trail camera picture to see if those times matched up with the solunar data. There was no correlation.

I too pay more attention to barometric pressure than anything. Anything above 30 and climbing you need to be in a tree

10-14 days after the second full moon after autumnal equinox is usually "peak" for areas with a traditional November rut. If it's hot during that time all bets are off. However if the weather is right and the pressure is high then you best be in your big and beasty plot ready to doink one.

    Ya hear meah?
