    Default Columbia to MI

My in-laws are chomping at the bit to get back down to Murrells Inlet... Even talking about going today. As ill advised as I find this, I told them I'd ask (A) if it was clear as far as the authorities were concerned and (B) if anyone knew road conditions.

They generally go the Columbia-Wedgefield-Manning Andrews route. I suggested I-20 to 95 then the "beach route" to 544....

    Any Intel?

Just got a pic from a friend in Aynor. 501 has water over it near Conway.

Haley said last night no one would be allowed back in until they had assessed damage to infrastructure and utilities. They need to wait a day. My family wants to come back tomorrow but I told them to wait until Monday. If you're here it's best to sit tight and let them do their jobs without interruption it'll make life easier on all of us.

I had power until 10:30am, now I'm listening to the generator run. Got the TV and fridge going though.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I'm pretty much at the halfway mark. And the wind is howling and trees are still coming down. No way you want them on the road today.

Not to mention flooding. There has to be significant roads flooded along the way with the rain weve gotten
