    Default Merino wool

Looking at picking up some base layers for the up coming seasons. I've read a few things about merino and most of the recommendations said to go get some from first lite, but man they are proud of it.

What brand are you guys using?

Seems everywhere is proud of it. I got some from LL Bean 2 years ago and it's been great. The sapwood stuff is on my list to pick up this year.

Do you know the break down of the materials in the shirt? Like how much wool is in it? and how much is something else?

I agree, but sometimes the same value can be had at a better price if you ask around. See any cooler related thread.

I would go with Patagonia baselayers. They have been making them longer than any other company. They make their gear to last. I am still on the same base layers since 2004. Their gear is used by outdoor athletes who push it harder than any hunter, outside of sheep hunters.

Merino wool from NOMAD must be new?

I've been pleased with the stuff I have gotten from Minus33.

I'm pretty sure they've had it since they launched.

They call it sapwood but if you read the description it's Merino or at least has some merino content.

The NOMAD Sapwood Bottom is the ultimate mid-weight fit Merino baselayer.
