    Default Gator problems

I live on a protected area on Lake Moultrie. Across from my backard was a gator den that I have since filled with concrete. For the last several years gators like to return and have become quite a pain. I have contacted DNR and had 7 -8 removed and have removed some myself, Any suggestions on keeping these things away. Can't let dog out of sight and now grandkids are getting big enough to like being around water.

    Default Gators

Neighbors are on both sides. They dont mind the loud noise, issue is keeping them from coming back

They will keep coming back period until they are all gone period unfortunately about the only thing you can do is to keep removing them or drain the lake. The old timers had it right with Wolves, yotes, gators amongst other things.

This reminds me of the folks that move to the mountains out west and then get all riled up when a cougar eats their dog.

We caught a little 4 footer in our yard over Thanksgiving 2 years ago because my dog was after it. Called DNR to have them relocate it and got a $350 ticket which was eventually thrown out. Bottom line is I will never call DNR over a nuisance gator again, just shoot the gator and be done with it.

If it's suitable alligator habitat then new gators will fill in whatever void you temporarily create. Moultrie is full of gators and I hope that doesn't change. You'll have to learn to live with them.
