No, you're definitely not alpha. If the dog is leaning into your leg, he's asserting himself. If he puts his paw on your foot, he's asserting himself. If he's growling at you while you feed him, he wants a shot at the title, or, he's already assumed you're beta.

I would go postal on that mutt. And I'd do it every single time he so much as yawned in my presence.

On a serious note, I had some aggression issues with my male lab when he was around two. There were a couple of times that he growled at me and I beat his ass to the point I literally thought I was either going to break my hand or really hurt him. I don't know if he got the point, or just outgrew it. It fucking sucked either way. I didn't enjoy beating the hell out of my dog, but something had to be done. This was when the wife was pregnant with my son. I knew I would have to either change his behavior or get rid of him. By the time my son was born, the dog had chilled out. I also watched the dog like a hawk for atlas the first year of my sons life. Now the two of them are best friends and I would trust my dog more than the babysitter if I knew DSS wouldn't be at my doorsteps. The dog is 5.5 and the kid is almost 3.
