Default Ebola monkeys on the loose in SC?

Monkeys escape research lab in Yemassee
    WTOC Staff

    May 1, 2016 07:17 PM

YEMASSEE, SC (WTOC) - The Yemassee Police Department received a call around 1 p.m. Sunday that several monkeys escaped from the Alpha Genesis research facility.

Authorities report that six monkeys have been captured out of the 19 that are believed to have escaped.

Police are searching for the remaining monkeys and ask anyone sighting the primates to call 911. The monkeys do not carry diseases, but can still be dangerous because they are wild animals.

WTOC will update this story as more details become available.

This could push Fish over the edge.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

This isn't the first time those crafty suckers have made a break for it.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I have a customer that killed one in a deer stand near Jacksonboro about 10 years ago. The monkey came and got an ear of corn and walked out of the lane. When he came back for the second ear, he wasn't so lucky
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

What if the monkeys start riding bikes in the middle of the road?

2 years ago my neighbor who hunts all over the state brought me a picture and asked what I thought it was.

I swore up and down someone was playing a trick on him it appeared to be a monkey.

It wasn't a huge ape or anything but it was baboon size. He got multiple pictures through out the day. It seemed to be very interested in his salt lick.

I'm not sure why it baffles me that people don't know about that island.

I mean if you're a kid growing up in South Carolina what would keep you away from wanting to take a boat to an island of monkeys, ill tempered monkeys mind you.
