    Default Skinning Pole/Cutting Table

Necessity is the mother of invention, or so I am told.

I want a table that has all of my components, integrated.

Skinning cradle, under the skinning pole, but I want the pole to have a boom, and the boom pivot on the pole. Gambrel, of course hanging from the boom.

The idea, is to put the critter on the cradle, skin out the legs, start the cut across the brisket, and to the solar plexus, and belly button cuts, the lift up the critter by way of gambrel to the gut bucket side, finish the skinning, drop the guts and rinse off.

From there, pivot the boom again to the table portion, where the critter will be broken down the rest of the way.

Where I am hanging up, is how the cable will pivot with the boom, and if I am going to have to bury the pole, or if I can simply bolt it to the table.

I realize I am complicating something incredibly simple, but this is the guy that makes all his bush hooks look like deep water grouper rigs.

Give me some (constructive) thoughts, ideas, etc.

I would run the cable boom assy as a drop in pipe, make a matching bracket one on the back of your truck so it will be usable on both.

No shit, I'm building something kinda like that tomorrow. No skinning pole, I'm winging it. If it's camera worthy I'll post pics.

After all those food pics, you need to redeem yourself with lots of construction Kodak moments.

In the meantime, one will come up in the trading post close enough for him to "modify".

I would forget the pivot idea because by the time said deer is skinned and gutted he will be light enough to carry to the table. I doubt you would want the extra movement from a boom that pivoted either.

Much cleaner and less mess to skip gutting them. However I don't think your boom will be able to mount to the table, but then again I'm not going to say it can't be done

Wont be just deer. Probably a fair amount of pork too. I'm brainstorming locking the boom down, somehow, without a ladder.

Again, just spit balling. Seeing what will stick.

I'd add a foot pedal of some sorts in there, and maybe a chute.

how many verticals do you have? or are you installing whatever you need?

I see the issue...and that is how the cable will slide.

I am thinking something like my uncle's butcher shop. the cable drops vertically and runs on tracks. your skinning tables will have to run parallel. do you have enough room for that?

if not, how about put in two verticals and switch from one to the other during the process. critter can stay on the gambrel....just switch runs.

and make sure its an electric winch.

    ready set go

I'm thinking you need a crane and a loader. Go big or go home. You need a truck bed cap too.

I need someone with auto cad.

A simple table, sink far left, (for filets, or bag ready hunks of meat).

In the middle, a table large enough to cut 40" fish, 200lbs hogs/deer, or pile up limits of ducks.

Adjacent to the table on the right will be a skinning cradle. Behind the cradle, the pole/boom. To the far right gut bucket with access to back a four wheeler/pick up to.

I know what I want, but not sure if it will be worth it all in the long run.

It's probably a gay bar he frequents. I'd stay clear.
