Supply & Demand
You've got one life. Blaze on!
I eat commercial chickens with vigor. Mainly bc I'm not a pussy soccer mom of a man.
Those chickens are selectively bred to put on weight that fast. If you keep them until they are fully grown, they will eventually break their legs just dropping down off of something, like the steps, or a log.
Most processors like their birds between 6-9 pounds. However, we see some running 11-14 pound "superbirds". A 14 pound chicken is a damn sight!

I'm going to heaven for the weather and hell for the company.
Be dangerous, unpredictable, and make a whole lot of noise.
I'm talking about hens. The rooster at that size is common, correct.

As big as a medium turkey. Maybe called "Turkins"
We raised about 30 Cornish cross, same breed all major processors raise. All they do is eat. I mean like a bunch of large people at a Golden corral, Quincey's or Ryans.
They will belly up to feed and just eat. They grow so fast. They sleep on the ground. And to see them try to run with the other regular chickens it is hilarious. Had a few we let grow to about 18-20weeks and they dressed out at 6#. Like a Lil turkey.
