    Default Thermocell refill

I know it's in the how to forum, but this is a little different and easier in my opinion. I figure some will find it useful. Drill out an empty cartridge from the back with an 11/64 bit. Remove the brass refill nipple off of a pencil torch ($3.00 at harbor freight) and coat the threads with pipe glue. Screw into cartridge and refill with zippo butane fluid. The benefits are you can refill with out removing the cartridge and you don't have to wait until you are empty. This might have been posted before, but thought some would appreciate. I just top off before going in the stand and don't have to worry about swapping cartridges mid sit.

If you run out of pads, get on amazon and look up thermocell refill pads, think they are sold or labeled ARS MAT 12. I bought 120 for a little over $21 and they work just as good. They smell a little like powder when they being used which is fine with me a the reg thermocell pads give me a headache.

No, not that I can tell but I am usually 15' or better off the ground. Used them during turkey season too with great success against the mosquitos. The mats are about half the size of the normal thermocell mats and just a tad thicker so they aren't gonna fall out like the original ones do.

Yep, thanks for the heads up on those pads, got 60 coming my way.

Been refilling my own bottles for a while now, always needed pads.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
