Can/would a conservation easement be able to protect against this?
i have asked that question and its too late now...but, yes, certain easements wouldve prevented this from happening. Too bad I have some commercial real estate guys as members......since they would NEVER put an easement on something that could be developed later.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
Unfortunately for the landowners involved, it sounds like whether or not Dominion has the right is irrelevant. They've somehow found a way to make it their right. I fully suspect 2th, Mr. Edens, and others involved are putting up a fight, and some of the parties involved probably have substantial means for funding the fight.
So if 2th says it's going to happen regardless of what the landowners want, the notion of doing what's right was thrown out the window LONG ago, which was my point. Dominion and IP are doing this because they feel it will improve their bottom lines. They've obviously greased enough folks who are in the right places.
There's a lot we don't know about this situation but you can almost guarantee it's happening because a politician or a group of politicians sold their soul(s) in favor of a big check.
They ran a gas pipeline through our farm last year and it sucked!! They tear up everything in their path and have no respect for trees, or anything else. I had one HUGE white oak that I prayed they wouldn't cut down and they did everything except cut it. To hell with all pipelines, power lines, towers, etc. I know they are needed but man it sucks for it to go through your property.
I take an PLB in the shower with me. Can't ever be too safe.
Whats it like to live w/o the Internet? Not bad, I get photos of your mom thought the mail....
"I'd like to know more about this. Someone give cottontop a bump of coke."
Sportin' Woodies
Where can I find a map of the gas line
Just found it online. Looks like I'm safe. ..
Well I guess $$$ trumps everything....
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
Welcome to the world.
What pisses me off is that land owners can't doing anything in that area with out permits and bs approvals and then dominion can just rip right through your land. ..
It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.
I wonder how many of those folks who don't want this pipeline cutting through their property think the Keystone is a fine idea. I'd guess close to 100%.
