    Makes sense. Thanks.

Are the cylinders completely stopped? If so, how is the damage created? Running in this mode or when they are cut back on?

I'm in the early stages of looking for a suburban myself... KRT told me that GM got it right after 2013. So if it's newer than that you should be okay.

My first service reports stated that not frequent enough oil changes caused problem. A $7k+ engine replacement was recommended.

I drove off in the truck.

Bump. Just bought the wife a very nice 2007 Yukon XL with 155k. Boss's wife's car. I know it was maintained well. Taking it to Kevin on Friday. Hopefully not too late.

Had a '10. I bought it new to me with 50k on it. Didn't have a problem til about 140k. Then the mf started ticking like it was gonna blow up. The day it did I went and traded it in on a Tundra. Best decision ive made in a while.

I look at a suburban last week that had a new engine. Replaced at 140k. The records in the glove box stated low oil due to infrequent oil changes.

Our company 07 Yukon xl is closing in on 300k mi and makes no noises. It does consume a quart every 3k. If it had DOD lifter/cam issues I think it would have surfaced by now

It had it. Under the instant fuel economy view, it would show V8 or V4 mode.
