    Default Good shells?

I bought these back 13 or 14 years ago. Are they a good shell for smacking a turkey? May get a chance to go if everything works out for me.

I missed my first one with those exact shells...never again will I hunt with a gun that I don't know it's limitations.

Use number 5s in that exact shell and it'll rock a head out to 40 no problem. Ideally you'd want to pattern your gun to make sure that works for your gun/choke combo but yes, those shells will work.

I'm gonna be shooting them out of a nova. Know I'll need a choke since all I have is mod and imp. Any recommendations on choke for gun or just run with factory full.

Factory full will be fine if you're getting them in close (i.e. 40 or less). I use a jellyhead with an 870 and have no complaints

I use those same shells in #5 with an 870 and a .660 choke, but can't think of the name of it.

Pattern it if you get a chance before you go. Knowing how far you can shoot makes a big difference for me.

13 or 14 years ago they were a good shell. To this day a bird standing still in the open under 40 yds pretty much any shell will still get the job done. Change any of those variables and the outcome of your day could take a 180 for the worse all to save a few dollars. Just my two cents since you asked.
