Getcha one of these to keep the eggs warm. They're nature's incubators...

Foxfire books have coop plans. If you don't have the books you need them anyway.

I've got a 1935 Farm Manual around here somewhere.

It has plans for damn near everything. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Send me a pm with your number or email and I'll send them to you. Not sure how to get them from my phone to here.

Do you want to build a coop or a chicken tractor?

Stationary and or do you want to "free roam" your hens by moving the coop around?

Mine is a make shift coop, from an old pig pen. Didn't want to get too crazy while renting. Once I get settled into something long term this coming year, I plan on building me a nice little set up.

Weighing those options now but will most likely go with a permanent coop vs. a tractor.

I'll try to get over to my neighbor's place and take some pics of his set up. Pretty cool. I've considered doing it, but finding a good corner in my yard is the challenge.

Mine's 10x10 with a 12x12 metal shed top. Built it 6.5 ft tall so I don't bump my head. back has tin and laying boxes inside. Most expense is the wire. Make sure you run water to it while you are at it. Toting water sucks.

My girls have 4 hens in theirs. It is 4 feet wide and 8 feet long with 3 nesting boxes on the back.

I built them a shed off of Ana White's website. It's 4x8 and tall enough for me to walk in to clean.

Here is a picture off her site.

Built this one for my meat chickens.
