    Default Enoree WMA

I think I have figured it out! I hunted the Enoree River WMA with a few buddies of mine for the first time on Saturday. It really is a pretty impoundment and has tons of potential. There were a good many woodies trying to come in but people were shooting at them honestly like 70 yards up in the air. I only saw 2 birds come down the whole morning and they were clipped and glided down. I'm sure they weren't recovered. After the hunt, I watched the people come out from where the sky busting came from and they were all between say 16 and 21 years old. I'm thinking that if an age limit was imposed of say 25 and up, it would cut all that out. By the time people turn 25, they are out of school, working, have families, etc, and only the serious duck hunters are going. When you are in school, you have all the free time and no reaponsibilities so that's why all the sky busters are out there. The Enoree WMA could be an awesome place if people would let the birds come in. I won't be going back, but that place has a ton of potential!

That's how it is with all the WMA's around here. Went once last year and don't think a single bird was worked, skyblasting all around. I never fired a shot.

This shit is really getting comical

News flash it's potential shit the bed like 10 years ago.

And if it ever had any again you just didn't help it by blabbing your little silly rant on the inter webs for all the world to see.

Maybe we should raise the legal drinking age to 25 as well?. Would it reduce the amount of alcohol involved collisions? Maybe, but only marginally, if at all... Ignorance transcends age.

I would totally agree with you on the age thing, however I feel that the percentage of sky busters is higher in younger folks. What would be your suggestion then in improving the quality of hunts then on our WMA's?

It's already fucked beyond the point of return. I'm sure all of our category II WMA's are. All we can do now is try to suggest some helpful tips and hopefully the right people will pick up on them. I won't be back so I could care less how many people go down there! It's a complete waste of time! I think it would make a good draw hunt area myself. Only needs 2 or three blinds though.

I'm surprised no one has been shot at that place. When a duck tries to work, its like a porn star visiting a frat house.

Nothing you can do will fix the skybusting. You can't fix stupid.

She'll limit wouldn't do anything unless it was a maximum of like 8 shells. Nobody shot more than 6 or eight times on Saturday, but when you got 10 to 15 diffent people shooting six to eight times at high birds....there goes your birds.

every younger generation you come across invite them on a hunt and try steering them in the right direction.

I would be DOWN with going to a good place for a chance at some good shots on different species with 6 shells! Pick your shots and once you were done get the hell out of there!

Bubba let me tell you something. I know a hell of a lot more about that place and its history than you do. You're not telling me anything I didn't already know.

But now that you're disgusted and never going back might as well just add fuel to the shit show fire there right!

What a Moondick you are showing us you are. Congrats

So your category II WMA improvement suggestion is to "keep it on the DL"? News flash...it's already out!

I grew up about 15 minutes from there and hunted it when it was a draw hunt with my old man and cousin. It used to be pretty good even after it changed to a cat 2 for a few years. You wouldn't catch me dead in that place now. Last time I went was about 4 years ago and had a shot pepper a buddy of mine. Promptly got the hell out of there and never looked back.

If they imposed a limit on the number of hunters that could use it or do some type of morning draw system our cat 2's probably wouldn't be so bad. Until then everyone else can have it. Nothing is worth getting shot at for.
