    Default My Season

Season started out pretty slow as far as hearing birds gobble. I heard a total of five gobbles the first week. This one gobbled once at 2:30 on opening day. 19.5 pounds. 1 inch spurs. 10 inch and 8 inch beards.

This one gobbled 3 times then strutted behind the only clump of bushes that could keep me from shooting for ten minutes before finally sticking his head in an opening that I could shoot thru.

Second double beard in two days. 9 inch and 5 inch beards 18 pounds and 1 inch spurs

Took almost two weeks to get on another bird. He started gobbling in the dark then gobbled fifty times on the roost before making a big semi circle out in front of me. Had to lead him as he was still running toward me when I shot him at 20 yards.

16 pounds, 3/4 inch spurs. 10 inch beard.

Then came big daddy. 12 inch beard 1.25 inch spurs and 19 pounds.

I didn't mind the two mile walk back to the truck after this one a bit.

Tried to get my brother and my nephew their first birds and while we got birds within 30 yards of both of them they never got an open shot. I also spent 5 or 6 days trying to get one particuler bird but never could get in the right place at the right time because of water and property lines. Had a heck of a season but ended up one short of being tagged out.

Don't pay any attention to sperm guzzler he puts bags over his turkey heads because he's afraid of a little blood.

It took me almost an hour to post those pictures with my old, slow computer and for some reason I can't get back in to delete the double picture. Just pretend like I killed five
