    Default Skinning Knives

Got a birthday coming up and will probably treat myself to a good skinning knife. Numerous people have recomended a Buck "Woodsman", and I myself have used one on a couple different occasions. Anyone have a knife they use that is no more than 100 dollars?

    Thanks

I don't have much useful input for ya. I mean I'm all for getting good stuff. But my plain ole folding Buck knife skins em just as well. But even classic style Bucks go for like $80 nowadays. Inflation is a bitch.

I use a plane jane buck knife but Outdoor Edge makes a great product you will not regret the purchase.

Get the orange handle knife from peach orchard deer processing in dalzell for $25. It's the knife used in the 2 minute deer skinning utube video.

Here you go. For overall skinning, it's tough to beat, although there's times I'll pick up my Buck filet knife to get into a tight area.

Buck knives are made out of extremely ridgid metal. They are nice and pretty, but are harder to sharpen and do not hold an edge that well. The best skinning knife I have is a cheapo I bought at an ace hardward store a few years back. Its made by Ruko and is easy as pie to sharpen and holds a good edge. It's a camouflage handle knife with a black coated blade. Bought mine for $9.99. Those outdoor edge knives are good too.

I'm surprised someone hasn't come along yet and told you to get a "yeller handle case"

Swingblade is the go to. Get the original swingblade, not the folder. Pa-in-law got the folder and its a beast to clean up.
