i tried to google it but too much shit to weed thru.

I have an iPhone 4. it has started to suck some serious ass. right now, sitting at my desk, its says "extended" not 3G. it takes FOREVER for it to send a text every now and then. sending a picture via text isnt even worth it. it drops calls on the interstate.

i feel certain there is a way to back everything up and kind of "reboot" this piece of shit. anyone know what I can do? it seems like it just started screwing up in the last month.

Do a hard reboot on it. Hold the lock button on top an the home button at the same time until it cuts off. It usually helps mine.

When's the last time you plugged it up to your computer and updated it?

Turn the phone off and take out the sim card. Put the card back in and turn on your phone.

i havent plugged it into the cpu in a long time.

it has a new version I can update but it just fixes some silly bug and the maps of japan.

but I dont mind a hard reboot as long as I dont lose all my data.

You can use one of your fancy dental tools, or a paper clip

Do the reboot as mentioned above. You won't lose any data. It's considered a soft reset. The only way to do a hard reset is through the settings and you don't want to do that unless absolutley necessary.

Verizon doesn't have SIM cards if that is your carrier. My wife's iphone 4 is screwing up too. But she has maxed out her memory taking pics and videos of the kid. She an delete a couple videos and it works fine for a few weeks.

i maxed out and started erasing a bunch of pics. i have so few apps on there, I cant really understand how I can max it out with just 500 pics or so....

but I dont really care. I just want the damn thing to send the text and not drop the call in the simplest of places.

This will not cause you to lose any data.

It won't cause you to lose any data, but it will reset ALL of your settings. I had to do that to mine, and I'm still looking for shit that "moved" during the reset. Pain in the ass if you go that route.
