    Default New to teal

This will be my second year duck hunting and first year of hunting teal, only thing is I don't know anything about hunting teal. My big problem is I'm not sure what kind of habitat to look for in order to effectively scout them. Can anyone give me a body of water to start my search, and perhaps a few pointers on what to look for. I am by no means asking for someone's spot (I know most duck hunter's spots are more secret than most military secrets), rather a good starting point so I can put in my own work. Thanks for any and all help you can spare.

Start in any river near the coast with accessible marshes or broken rice fields.

    They do not decoy.

Paticular flight patterns. Set up 50 yds from their line of flight, and you will be watching them buzz by all morning just out of range.

Learn about SAVs, find benefical SAVs, and you will find the teal

Teal is a low-saturated color, a bluish-green to dark medium, similar to medium blue-green and dark cyan. It can be created by mixing green with blue into a white base, or deepened as needed with a little bit of black or gray color.[3] The complementary color of teal is coral.[3] It is also one of the initial group of 16 HTML/CSS web colors formulated in 1987.
The first recorded use of Teal as a color name in English was in 1917.[4]

    Yep.

No need to even bring decoys.

They respond very well to calling though...

Teal hunting will make you cool!! know dat!! And they decoy very well actually.

Honestly.. Scout, identify, kill. Its that simple.

I cannot stress these enough. If you cannot identify them, go out, but leave your gun at home.

Doesn't NC have a law that you cannot hunt early teal west of 17? That is an excellent idea
