    Default I need some ideas

I am cooking for about 500 people, not a full meal, just an appetizer. I need some ideas on what to cook. Don't want anything too complicated or expensive. Chicken bog, fish stew, and BBQ are not an option.

    Vienna Sausages.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

My brother in law catered a "wild game" rehearsal dinner I was at.....fried quail and waffles was the tits. Maybe not suited for 500 people but hotamighty that was good eating.

Half a quail breast breaded and fried on a little mini waffle all drizzled with some local honey. Didn't even need an entree after that and the crawfish.....hell do that boil up a bunch of crawfish. Might get a little expensive though.

2 out of 7 actually helping, that is pretty good

It is the taste of Clarendon. There will be a good variety of food. All ur basic stuff like: BBQ, quail, chicken bog, tenderloin. So, was going to attempt to do something different.

I am not an expert chef, so needs to be fairly easy. Thought I would see what type of ideas y'all would come up with.

What type of cooker are you/can you use (big gas grill, fryer, smoker, etc)?
Does the food need to be cooked ahead of time (like BBQ) or is it cooked on demand (Like chicken fingers)?

Shrimp stuffed with horseradish, wrapped in pancetta or bacon and put under the broiler. Easy to do but enough for 500 may get pretty tedious.

500 people? That aint easy. Someone asked the right question and that is what you have to cook ON and whether you want a HOT app or not...and how much variety you are looking for.

I mean you guys would probably put up a cheese plate, grapes, and a juice box like y'all are feeding kids and shit. Chicken fingers, I mean really. Buying three hundred Mcdonald's cheeseburgers and cutting them into quarters is better than that.
