Many states have a fall season and I was wondering if SC had ever tried to have one or if there is a specific reason why we don't? We certainly seem to have enough birds.

We used to have one for years. DNR cancelled it and we have a larger flock because of it. I would much rather kill a bird in the Spring than the fall...

Another thing that makes it hard to have a fall season is the fact that there is so much corn on the ground for deer in part of the state...fortunately there is one in TN

I killed a few bird during the fall season when we used to have them but it just didn't do anything for me. Compared to the spring season it's like the difference in catching marlin compared to carp. If a person likes it and a flock can sustain it thats cool, but I just didn't enjoy it that much.

The birds are real susceptible in the fall also, especially flocks of jakes. I know a couple of guys who busted up flocks of jakes then sat down and started calling them back in and killing 8 to 10 birds one right after the other from the same spot. I've seen the pics too so I know they weren't lying. Sorry mofos!!

And some States allow dogs, I think Virginia or West Virginia allows them along with several others. That to me would be more fun than just busting them up and calling them back. At least you get to watch a dog trail and bust'em for ya.
