I'm thinking two mottleds as well. The Black Duck, Anas rubripes, means duck with red feet. Neither bird has red feet.
A photo of the wing shoulders would tell for sure.

armchair Murray still holds a grudge against me for something I dont even remember. Its ok. I know his type.
That was a draw hunt and quite obviously it was two guns but I took the pic because I somewhat disagreed with the DNRs assessment of those birds plus an obvious hen mallard that they wanted to call a mottled.
I agree that Bear Island West has not been producing this year and we killed every duck we had a shot at. A fair number of teal were in the area but not using the 6" of water we were put in....
